Flooded scenes

Chaudfontaine, Pepinster, Belgium, 2021.

In the summer of 2021 the North-East of Belgium was hit by horrendous floods. Many homes were damaged and day to day life was put on hold to help recover personal belongings. A well established Belgian conservation company was contacted to aid in the rescue of paper archives that seemed as good as lost.

Whilst working hard to help save these towns important history and information, we came across many landscapes I'd never seen before. Scenes that felt like they needed capturing, as a record of history. As a warning of what devastation natural disasters bring with them.
